Adventures of an Opera-Singing CEO

Speaking for Microsoft Small Business Forum

April 7, 2008 · Leave a Comment

So last week I participated in a live teleconference for the Microsoft Small Business Summit series. The Microsoft Small Business Summit is a free online event that promises to provide hours of valuable small business programming each day. Attendees to the virtual event get tips, advice and secrets from experts.

I was a guest on “Startup Day,” and discussed how Sittercity broke the childcare mold and created an entire industry to help parents in finding a babysitter online. This session was delivered as streaming video and audio broadcasts that could be viewed on personal computers as it happened live. Immediately following the live broadcast of this Microsoft Small Business Summit, the session for the day was re-broadcast and recorded, and is now available for viewing on-demand online. It was a lot of fun! Answering questions was the best part–I was able to speak to a number of small business issues, including how to guerilla market a new company, do your own PR and also how to become the industry expert in your field.
